Prior to Notre Dame’s showdown against #1 Clemson this past weekend, we asked the school’s 2021 recruits for their predictions.

All of them picked the Irish to upset the top-ranked Tigers, so it’s not a huge surprise that they were excited in the aftermath.

“Insane!!” said tight end commit Mitchell Evans‍ , who made the trip down to South Bend to watch the game with fellow commits Blake Fisher‍ and Justin Walters‍, although he said they were unable to score tickets to get inside the Stadium.

“An amazing game and that’s how football is supposed to be played.”

Wide receiver commit Deion Colzie‍ wasn’t able to get out to South Bend, but he definitely watched on TV.

“Man, I thought it was a really exciting game,” said Colzie. “We did a really great job in the run and passing game to keep Clemson on their toes.

“Defense played great as well. Just an overall great team win.”

Cornerback commit Ryan Barnes‍ was pumped.

“It was the best feeling,” he said. “So many people I know thought that Clemson had an easy win and it felt great to prove them wrong.

“It makes me excited to be a part of the family.”

Offensive line commit Joe Alt‍ had similar feelings.

“That was amazing to watch!” he said. “There were so many momentum shifts and I was really impressed with ND staying in it in the second half and first OT.

“It was one of the most fun games that I’ve ever watched!”

Prior to the game, offensive line commit Pat Coogan‍ said it was time for the Irish to earn some well-deserved respect.

“Unbelievable game,” he said afterward. “Unbelievable performance by Ian Book. Good for (Javon) McKinley and (Avery) Davis. Great coaching all around. Amazing win for the guys!

“Onto Boston College.”

We also heard from several top 2022 targets, who were similarly impressed, which you can read HERE.
