The Skinny
Notre Dame and Ohio State have been near or at the top of this recruitment for a long time and they’re now joined by Penn State.
The interest in the Irish was evident when Singleton made an unofficial visit to South Bend in the Fall of 2019 without an offer and then returned again for another unofficial visit that season only to leave with an offer in hand. He had a date locked in for his third visit to South Bend, for a camp in June, but the extension of the dead period wiped that out. Running backs coach Lance Taylor has done a good job keeping the Irish in the mix throughout the suspension of in-person recruiting.
Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford has kept the Buckeyes high up on the list as well.
Many pegged Penn State as the leader early on, but in reality, the Nittany Lions’ presence in the top tier is more recent than the other two.
Decision Timetable
Singleton still needs to officially cut his list. He doesn’t seem to be in a huge rush to make a commitment, especially with such uncertainty around the resumption of in-person recruiting. We think there’s a good chance he’ll have his decision made by the start of his senior season.
ISD Expert Jamie Uyeyama
Singleton is bigger, stronger, and faster compared to his sophomore year, which is exactly what you want to see. He found another gear and his burst really improved. He's going to hit the hole quickly and do a good job running through arm tackles.
