When you play in a hurricane and against two triple option teams, it tends to skew the passing defense numbers. 196.4 yards per game, 24th in the nation, sure looks good on paper. It's just not indicative of Notre Dame's actual pass defense this season.

7.5 yards per attempt, 83rd in the nation, is more spot on. Those numbers aren't all on the cornerbacks. The safeties certainly played a big part in that and the lack of pass rush did as well.
