College football is one week away from recruits flooding campuses across the country for camps and visits as the dead period will finally be lifted on June 1st.

Several prospects across the country will have aggressive visit schedules as they look to earn offers or learn more about the schools recruiting them.

2023 Vista Ridge (Colo.) quarterback Brayden Dorman‍ will be one of those kids as he'll camp at Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin in June.

"The camps and visits I'm going to be attending this summer have been based on what schools have been showing interest and the schools I'm interested in," stated Dorman. "Notre Dame has been a school I've been interested in and a school that's shown some interest. I decided it would be worth it to make a trip out there."

The Notre Dame staff has been in contact with the 6-foot-5, 197-pounder and he hopes to catch the eye of offensive coordinator Tommy Rees on June 8th.

"Coach Brian Polian and Dave Peloquin are the two guys who I've talked to about coming to camp," said Dorman. "My head coach has also talked to them a little bit.

"I'm pretty excited to get out there and show them what I can do. I also want to build a relationship with them and get to know them better. Maybe that's the spot to go, but I'm not sure yet."

The four-star signal-caller already holds offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Iowa State, Kansas, Middle Tennessee State, and Oregon State, which has allowed him to start his process and not feel pressure heading into the summer.

"It's nice to already have some offers and build relationships with coaches," Dorman stated. "I'm trying to acquire as many opportunities to play at the next level as possible, so I know I'm making the right decision. It is nice to have a couple of offers heading into these camps."

On the field, Dorman loves the game within the game. The chess aspect is something the Vista Ridge star loves as he has the freedom to get his offense into favorable matchups.

"I feel I dissect defenses well," explained Dorman. "I can figure out what defenses are doing and what they're doing to me. I can figure out what they're doing presnap and what works against them. If I need to alert something or change the play, that's something I've always been pretty passionate about - being able to make defenses pay.

"If they're going to blitz me, I can throw behind the guy blitzing. If they're going to play deep, I can throw underneath."

The Colorado native also knows he needs to continue to improve his mobility for the next level as more quarterbacks can move around at the next level.

"Something I need to work on is my mobility," Dorman said. "I see a lot of quarterbacks becoming more mobile and that's something I need to work on more and try to get faster each day."

However, Dorman's height might give him an advantage over most quarterbacks as he won't have any issues seeing over the line of scrimmage.

"It definitely helps, especially at the next level," Dorman stated. "If you're going to play at a high level, you're going to have tall linemen, so it helps to be that tall and be able to see over the line.

"Russell Wilson had to find holes and areas to peek through linemen to throw to the open guy. For me, it's a little bit easier because I can see right over guys and it helps a lot."

The camp schedule is aggressive, but Dorman is excited to show colleges what he can do in June.

"I'm ready to work," said Dorman. "It's going to be a little stressful because I could accidentally roll an ankle, or something could happen. I'm going to be at a camp pretty much every other day, so I will have to stay healthy throughout the entire month."
