BREAKING | 2022 Four-Star CB Benjamin Morrison Commits to Notre Dame
2022 Brophy Prep (Ariz.) cornerback Benjamin Morrison has committed to Notre Dame as the Fighting Irish held off a strong push from Washington and an unofficial visit to Alabama over the last month.
Mike Mickens, Brian Polian and Marcus Freeman did great work here and got the Irish back on track after Washington seemed to be the favorite two weeks ago.
Notre Dame’s academics stood out to Morrison before his official visit to Notre Dame and they won in the end as the other two programs simply couldn’t match the opportunities of the Irish.
"I just like the 40-year program they set forth with the 40 For 40," Morrison stated.
Notre Dame and Morrison seem like a perfect match according to his head coach Jason Jewell.
"We're a high-academic, Catholic Jesuit school," Jewell explained. "I guess it's similar.
"They see value in the education, valuing that Catholic education. Plus, it's Notre Dame, so it's big-time football."
Morrison's addition to the program will be felt on and off the field if he's anything like the kid that Jewell has come to know.
"He doesn't just benefit and impact our program, he benefits our whole school, just him being on campus," Jewell said. "He's a well-liked kid by everybody. He's popular with his teammates and he's a leader, popular with teachers. He's great."
The 6-foot, 172-pounder will join fellow cornerback Jaden Mickey, defensive back Jayden Bellamy, and defensive back Devin Moore in Notre Dame’s 2022 secondary haul.
