Travel issues prevented Tay’Shawn Wilson from getting a chance to do everything during his trip to Notre Dame on Saturday, but the 2023 Texas cornerback still enjoyed his visit to South Bend.

“It was good,” the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder said. “Great environment and everything.

“We made it late because our flight was late, but we saw the indoor facility. The indoor facility was crazy.”

The Mayde Creek High School standout already has offers from schools like Texas, Baylor, Houston, Louisiana Tech and Buffalo.

He was able to speak with Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Aaryn Kearney while he was in town.

“He was just catching up with me,” he said of Kearney.

Wilson was impressed with the atmosphere on campus for the gameday.

“The atmosphere was nice, great energy and everything,” Wilson said. “The tradition was great.”

And despite the Irish’s loss to Cincinnati, he also enjoyed the contest.

“The game was great,” he said. “I liked their defensive system.”

Wilson heads to Baylor next, but is excited about moving forward with the process with Notre Dame.

“I'm trying to build a relationship, try to build a relationship with the coaches.”
