Cooper Flanagan‍ has seen plenty of Notre Dame over the last couple weeks and that’ll continue this week.

The 2023 Irish tight end commit made the trip from California to South Bend a couple weekends ago to see Notre Dame’s home finale against Georgia Tech.

“It was great,” the De La Salle star said. “I loved it

“Obviously, I saw the game. We got to take pictures, went to the top of Touchdown Jesus. It was fun. It was a great game. The stadium was amazing. The environment was really cool. It was fun to watch us do really good too.”

Flanagan enjoyed watching former De La Salle star Isaiah Foskey and current Irish tight end Michael Mayer in person.

“Before the game, I was on the sidelines next to like the tight ends warming it up,” he said. “It's a lot more surreal in person. It's still pretty cool to see.

Flanagan, who made the trip with his current teammate Derek Thompson, was happy to meet some future teammates in person, like Adon Shuler‍ (pictured with Flanagan above).

“It was cool,” he said. “It's pretty weird to know these are going to be my future teammates. It's funny to me, but it was cool.”

He also had multiple chances to speak with his future coach, John McNulty.

“After the game we talked and before the game,” he said. “It was cool, good to see him. He was just talking about the game and said he was happy to see me.”

This past weekend, Flanagan made the trip to Palo Alto to see the Irish close out their regular season with a win over Stanford.

And now, Flanagan is expecting McNulty to stop at De La Salle on Monday along with head coach Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

“That's pretty cool to know they're willing to spend time to come see me.”
