Trainer | Ceiling Super High For 2022 Notre Dame WR Target Justius Lowe

Notre Dame went to the Pacific Northwest to sign Tobias Merriweather‍, one of the country’s best receivers in the Class of 2022, last month and with the Irish still in the market for wideouts before the February Signing Period, they’re looking back out there again.

Shortly after the Early Signing Period closed, Notre Dame extended an offer to Oregon’s Justius Lowe‍, who committed to Utah, but did sign in December.

Coincidentally, Lowe and Merriweather both train with Jamar Howard, owner of Big 12 Performance.

Howard believes the Irish could be a player for Lowe in the coming weeks.

“He loves Notre Dame like crazy,” the trainer said. “I know him and Tobias have been talking a lot.

“He just got USC and Florida, but he's committed to Utah. I know he's taking his visit to Utah on the 14th.”

Howard calls Lowe “a great kid.”

“He's very, very explosive just like Tobias, but he's more of a tweener,” he continued. “I think a lot of people see his film that think he's shorter, but he's a legit 6-1, 6-2. A lot of people are going to be shocked at how big he is. He's already 185 too. He's very, very explosive.”

Lowe didn’t play a complete football season until he was a high school junior, so his ceiling is very high.

“I think he can get better at everything just because he's only been playing football for two years,” Howard said. “Even though he's on the level of all the top guys, man, he still hasn't even tapped into his potential yet.”

Lowe still has the opportunity to take some official visits and is looking at what comes after this weekend’s scheduled trip to Utah.

“He'll be taking probably another official on the 29th,” said Howard. “I'm just not sure which school. We talked to Coach (Dre) Brown from Notre Dame earlier.

“I would love for him and Tobias to go to Notre Dame together, but we will just have to see.”
