The 2023 ISD Fab 50

After some technical difficulties paused it from happening earlier in the week, it’s time for the initial 2023 ISD Fab 50. All it takes is one glance at the rankings to know that Notre Dame is doing things a little bit differently this year.

41 of the 50 have been offered by the Irish. The final 2022 Fab 50 had only 31 players with Notre Dame offers. The 2021 number was 25. It was also 31with offers in 2020.

Marcus Freeman’s philosophy has the staff more aggressive than ever and it’s paid off so far. They already have two players committed in Vyper Keon Keeley‍ (7th) and safety Peyton Bowen‍ (49th). They are aiming to add a handful of more with three Fab 50 members taking visits to Notre Dame this week (athlete Samuel M'Pemba‍, safety Malik Hartford‍, and running back Jeremiyah Love‍). They won’t be the last to visit this spring either.

Everyone knows that the Irish will be in a battle to keep Keeley and Bowen in the class. They should also know that there are only six kids total currently committed out of the 50. Things will start moving with commitments this spring and that number will be a lot bigger in a few months.

Typically when I put together this list, it’s a reminder that Notre Dame isn’t even in the game with most of them. That’s not the case this cycle and Irish fans should be excited about that.

The 2023 ISD FAB 50

- I have 13 defensive linemen in this group, most of them are edge rushers. There are five others who I had just outside of my top-50. Saying the defensive line class is loaded is an understatement.

- Dante Moore‍ is 17th. Needless to say, it would be pretty big to add a quarterback like him to Notre Dame’s class.

- Keeley is the highest rated ND commitment since I’ve been doing this. The highest before him was Blake Fisher in 2021 (8th).

- Some players I am higher on than most other recruiting sites: Hartford, Love, DT John Walker‍, Edge Desmond Umeozulu‍, and WR Aidan Mizell‍.

- Some Notre Dame prospects who I have rated as top-100 level talents who could jump into future editions of the Fab 50: DL Jason Moore‍, LB Jaiden Ausberry‍, OG Charles Jagusah‍, DL Brenan Vernon‍, LB Drayk Bowen‍, QB Christopher Vizzina‍, and OL Monroe Freeling‍.
