PROBABLE STARTERS
SCHOOL | NAME | RECORD (APPEARANCES) | ERA | IP | STRIKEOUTS |

Florida State | LHP Bryce Hubbart | 5-1 | 2.17 | 37.1 | 55 |
WHAT TO WATCH
- Link Jarrett’s return to his alma mater for the first time as Notre Dame’s head coach.
- The hype of Parker Messick vs. John Michael Bertrand lived up the hype on Friday evening. Messick went 8.0 innings and allowed just two hits while striking out 11. Bertrand went 7.2 innings and allowed four hits while striking out a career-high 12.
- Both teams tallied just four hits each in game one and Ryan Cole went deep to left for a two-run homer in the 12th for the only scoring in the game.
- Saturday could be much of the same as Florida State LHP Bryce Hubbart enters with a record of 5-1, 2.17 ERA and also has a high strikeout rate.
- Notre Dame’s starter is yet to be announced, but Jarrett will likely lean on his bullpen quite a bit today. Jarrett could have stretched his bullpen out a little longer on Friday if he wanted, but only Alex Rao got over 30 pitches after Bertrand exited, so Ryan McLinksey (23 pitches) and Aidan Tyrell (16 pitches) could potentially throw today if needed, but would definitely be available on Sunday.
- Both programs will need to find some offense. Florida State coach Mike Martin was critical of his team looking for the long ball, while the Irish need to improve when runners are in scoring position. It wouldn’t be a shock to see both teams be aggressive on the base early...if they can get on base.
