BREAKING | 2023 WR Braylon James Commits To Notre Dame

Wide receiver was always going to be a position of need for Notre Dame in the Class of 2023 and the Irish just landed one of their top targets as Braylon James‍ just announced his commitment.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder from Texas gives Notre Dame nine pledges in the Class of 2023 and becomes the first receiver in the group.

James chose the Irish over his other finalists; Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Stanford and Oregon.

Braylon James was high on Notre Dame coming into a visit to South Bend last month and when he left, the Irish were the clear leader.

It seemed like only a matter of time before he would publicly announce his commitment to the Irish and that time came on Monday.

Sources close to the recruitment say the Irish are extremely excited about starting the wide receiver class off with James and agree with that take.

“I love him because he has so much upside,” one educated source told Irish Sports Daily after evaluating James.

“He's not running around doing all the seven-on-sevens. He's just a raw, really good receiver. I'm fired up about him.”

The Irish will look to build on the recruiting class at the position as they continue to pursue prospects like Jaden Greathouse‍, Carnell Tate‍, Rico Flores Jr.‍, Rodney Gallagher‍ and the versatile Ronan Hanafin‍, who could play multiple positions.
