BREAKING | 2023 Four-Star DL Boubacar Traore Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame recruiting is hot and staying hot on Wednesday as 2023 Catholic Memorial (Mass.) defensive lineman Boubacar Traore has committed to the Fighting Irish following his visit.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder had committed to Boston College, but back off his pledge in March of this year. Notre Dame immediately became the front runner as defensive line coach Al Washington made the four-star prospect a priority.
“He's a great guy,” Traore told ISD in April. “He just checks up on his players every other day to make sure they're alright, make sure they've had a good day. He definitely asks about your day, what you did and how your day is going and things like that, just the little things.”
The Irish success on the defensive line wasn’t lost on Traore neither was Al Golden’s defense.
“They really think I can fit in their defense and things like that,” stated Traore. “They really have a great coaching staff that's able to bring great players in.”
Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman also has made time to impress the Catholic Memorial star as he vowed to make recruiting a priority.
“Another great coach,” Traore stated. “The whole staff is great, to be honest.”
And yes, Traore believes Notre Dame can win a national title.
“It's a national championship-contending team,” said Traore. Why wouldn't you want to go to a team that can compete for a national championship?”
