Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman made it crystal clear what he wants to do on Saturday night in Columbus. 

Run the damn ball. 

Is it shocking after watching Jack Coan throw 68 times for 509 yards in the Fiesta Bowl to hear Freeman emphasize the run game?

No. 

Freeman has spent his entire life in the Midwest and played for Jim Tressel at Ohio State. Tressel emphasized the run game with Maurice Clarett and Beanie Wells - and Freeman was there to see it firsthand.
