Less than a year after upsetting De La Salle in a playoff game last December, Folsom High School did it again, beating the Spartans 24-20 on Friday night.
The California showdown featured a pair of 2023 Notre Dame commits, wide receiver Rico Flores Jr. with Folsom and tight end Cooper Flanagan for De La Salle.
While he’ll be an offensive player in South Bend, Flanagan has been a force for the Spartan defense all season and was again on Friday, recording multiple sacks.
Meanwhile, Flores made some key receptions to help Folsom’s offense finally get going after a slow start.
In the end, it was Folsom’s Austin Mack scoring on a one-yard QB sneak on fourth down with 15 seconds left that provided the difference and helped Folsom complete the comeback.
LOVE, GRAY FACE OFF: Irish cornerback commit Christian Gray and his DeSmet squad faced off against Irish running back target Jeremiyah Love and his Christian Brothers team.

Even though his team came up short, Gray certainly demonstrated why he’s long been considered an elite prospect, including this impressive kickoff return.
EDWARDS SCORES AGAIN, DERBY WINS AGAIN: Not surprisingly, Hutchinson’s defense focused in on Irish running back/athlete commit Dylan Edwards , but couldn’t completely shut him down. The future Irish weapon scored the go-ahead touchdown and the Derby defense clinched a 28-21 win on the game’s final play.
Edwards also had another highlight reel run, even if it was called back.
GREATHOUSE, WESTLAKE DEFEAT LAKE TRAVIS: Irish receiver commit Jaden Greathouse caught a pair of touchdowns, including a 25-yarder with less than two minutes to play to seal a 35-20 victory. He finished with six receptions, including an 8-yard touchdown earlier in the third quarter.
DRAYK DOMINATES, ANDREAN WINS: Irish linebacker commit Drayk Bowen had a monster game to lead Andrean to a 24-17 win over Hobart on Friday night.
The future Irish defender finished with 17 tackles while also rushing for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, including this one. Yikes!
SHULER SCORES TWICE, IRVINGTON COMES UP SHORT: Notre Dame safety commit Adon Shuler continues to show he can get it done on both sides of the ball, taking advantage of his snaps as Wildcat quarterback for Irvington High School. TOUGH NIGHT FOR LIMAR, LAKE STEVENS: West Linn stunned Lake Stevens and 2023 Notre Dame running back commit Jayden Limar with a 45-6 blowout win on Friday night.
