Tracking The Trail | Notre Dame Targets Visiting Elsewhere
We’ve got some sweet College Football rivalry games being played this weekend, but that doesn’t always equate to major recruiting weekends.
However, #4 Michigan (7-0) is craving an opportunity to beat up on Michigan State (3-4) during a primetime game on Saturday night and will be bringing in several top targets to enjoy the show.
Among those expected in attendance at the Big House are some top Notre Dame recruits.
2024 St. Louis wide receivers Jeremiah McClellan and Ryan Wingo – the younger half of the Fabulous Four – will be at the game.
Top 2024 Chicago defensive lineman Justin Scott has been extremely high on Notre Dame for months, but has been enjoying visits elsewhere this fall and will also be in Ann Arbor. 2024 Pennsylvania linebacker target Anthony Speca is high on the Irish, Penn State and Ohio State, but he’ll be in Ann Arbor this weekend.
The Wolverines will also be hosting a pair of top 2025 signal-callers in Ohio’s Ryan Montgomery , who already has an offer from Notre Dame, and Kentucky’s Cutter Boley, who has been blowing up of late and camped in South Bend this fall.
The visit most Notre Dame fans will have their eye on this weekend is that of 2023 Virginia athlete Brandyn Hillman (pictured above).
This will be the second unofficial visit to Chapel Hill in a few weeks for Hillman, who was at the Tar Heels’ home game at the start of the month, prior to his official visit to Notre Dame.
The Irish are hoping to get Hillman on board soon, but he’s been advised to try to take his time with the process. In addition to this weekend’s visit, he’s eyeing a trip to Kentucky in a couple weeks. But could he decide he’s seen enough after a second look at North Carolina? We’ll see.
OTHER VISITS WORTH NOTING
Texas A&M is bringing in several targets for its home game against #15 Ole Miss.
2024 defensive lineman Aydin Breland and 2024 linebacker Payton Pierce both have offers from the Irish and both will be in College Station on Saturday night. Pierce is fresh off a trip to South Bend earlier this month. 2025 Pennsylvania quarterback Stone Saunders is somebody we’ve had our eyes on all year and he’ll be in College Station as well.
The biggest game of the afternoon features #13 Penn State (6-1) hosting #2 Ohio State (7-0). The Nittany Lions will use the showdown as an opportunity to host some of their top targets. That list doesn’t include many true top targets for the Irish, but 2024 Maryland offensive lineman Kyle Altuner wll be there. He has an offer from the Irish and has already visited South Bend.
2026 Massachusetts defensive end Dominic Funke was one of the few underclassmen to the Irish’s BBQ this summer after a camp performance. He has an early offer from Boston College and will be in Happy Valley tonight.
