2025 LB Noah Mikhail Talks Notre Dame Visit, Offer
You didn’t need to be with Noah Mikhail on Saturday night to know the 2025 California linebacker was pretty excited during Notre Dame’s 35-14 win over Clemson in South Bend.
Or Sunday for that matter.
Speaking with him on Monday, Mikhail’s voice hadn’t yet fully recovered from all the shouting he did inside Notre Dame Stadium during the Irish’s upset over the #4 Tigers.
Had he not lost his voice, he probably would have been shouting on Sunday as well when he learned he was being offered a scholarship by Notre Dame.
“It was actually at the end of my visit on Sunday that Coach (James) Laurinaitis offered me,” the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “He said he wanted to meet me and my family, see the type of people we were, and then at the end, he offered me.
“I was excited. That was a very exciting moment because I've been a fan of ND ever since I was younger. Just hearing that I had an offer there, it brought me a lot of joy.”
Mikhail’s father grew up a Notre Dame fan and continued the tradition with his family.
Mikhail already had offers from USC, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Cal, Oregon, Boise State and Washington.
He’d been out to South Bend as a youngsters years ago, but Saturday was his first trip as a recruit.
“We went to the new football facility, the new indoor and I met with Caleb Davis,” he said of the Notre Dame Football Analyst. “I got to know him a little bit and from there went down, watched the Player Walk and then went to the game. Then, we came back the next day.”
Mikhail was blown away by the atmosphere inside the Stadium.
“It was loud, exciting,” he said. “Everyone was on their feet, everyone was cheering. It was a really great atmosphere.”
He was also impressed with the Irish’s performance.
“They played amazing the whole game, they controlled it,” he said. “I envisioned myself down there playing.”
The coaches definitely made an impression on the Bonita High School standout.
“They were young, energetic, great people,” he said. “I really liked the way they coached and just meeting with them, I could tell they were really great people.”
Mikhail has already taken visits to USC, Washington and Arkansas this fall and is scheduled to get to Oklahoma later this month.
He intends to continue building relationships with the Notre Dame coaches and to return to South Bend again un the future.
“Just keeping that connection and building it more,” he said. "
He has an early idea of what will be most important to him when he needs to make a final decision.
“I think one of the most important things is fitting into the culture and seeing yourself there not just as a player, but having the connection of being a family with the whole staff and all the players.”
