2024 S Donovan Aidoo Enjoys "Awesome" Notre Dame Experience
After camping at Notre Dame this summer, Donovan Aidoo returned for the Irish’s game against Clemson and the 2024 Arizona safety enjoyed it even more.
“It was awesome,” Aidoo told Irish Sports Daily. “A great experience, definitely. I haven't experienced something like this yet. It was fun. They really treated us well with food and all that stuff. It was just an overall great experience.
“I saw a little bit of the campus, got to see the whole practice field. Then, once we ate, they took us down to onto the field and that was probably the best part because all the fans were getting hyped and stuff. You get to see the atmosphere.”
Aidoo, who already has offers from Washington State, Iowa State, Northern Arizona and San Diego State, enjoyed watching the Irish’s 35-14 win over #4 Clemson.
“I think it was a really good game,” he said. “The defense played amazing. The offense was slow at the beginning, but then they started picking up at the end. I think the defense brought it, so it helped the offense come through in the end and do their job.
“Then at the end of the game, they took us into the locker room and we got to hear the head coach Marcus Freeman, talk to all the players. It was just cool seeing them hyped because it was a big win.”
Earlier, Aidoo had the opportunity to speak with Irish Football Analyst Jeremy Larkin.
His plan now is to finish off his own high school season while continuing to stay in touch with the Notre Dame staff and hopefully land an offer one day.
He could be at USC in a couple weeks, when the Irish travel to Los Angeles for the regular season finale.
Aidoo left South Bend feeling good about the Irish.
“Definitely different than what I thought during the summer. I wasn't really sure about it, and now I'm like, 'Wow! This school's definitely up there. The atmosphere, everything, the fans, the team, it's all great vibes.’ It's definitely a school I could see myself at for sure.”
