A week after Al Golden and Chris O’Leary dropped in on 2023 Notre Dame safety commit Adon Shuler, the Irish defensive coordinator and safeties coach were back in New Jersey on Tuesday night.

And this time they brought a special guest.

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman joined Golden and O’Leary at Shuler’s house.

”Mannnnn, it was great,” Shuler’s father, Don, told Irish Sports Daily.

Shuler has been super comfortable with O’Leary from the start of the process and has found it easy to relate to Golden, a fellow New Jersey native.

That sense of comfort didn’t drop off in the least by adding Freeman to the mix.

“Freeman, Golden and O’Leary have really good chemistry with us,” Mr. Shuler said.

Freeman expressed an excitement and confidence about the current and future state of the Irish program during the visit.

“Free was basically like, he’s ready to roll with these guys and make them better young men overall,” Mr. Shuler said.

And Shuler is ready to get going as well.

Freeman has been busy this week on the East Coast.

Prior to meeting with Shuler on Tuesday, he and Golden were in Massachusetts meeting with 2023 defensive end commit Boubacar Traore‍ before stopping at Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut to check in on 2024 defensive line twins Jerod Smith‍ and Jacob Smith‍.

On Monday, Freeman and Golden started their day in the DMV area, visiting with 2023 commits Armel Mukam‍, Brandyn Hillman‍ and Devan Houstan‍ before making their way north to visit with Massachusetts linebacker Preston Zinter‍ that evening.
