Notre Dame Signees Win Gatorade Player of the Year Award
The Gatorade Player of the Year award is a prestigious honor given out each year and two Notre Dame signees have earned them the title for their state.
Andrean High School (Ind.) linebacker Drayk Bowen and Christian Brothers College (Mo.) running back Jeremiyah Love were named Gatorade Player of the Year in their respective states on Friday morning.
Bowen, who is currently in San Antonio for the All-American Bowl, is a back-to-back winner as he won the award last fall. In 2022, the four-star prospect ran for 1,784 yards and 26 touchdowns, while adding 144 tackles on defense with 19 tackles for a loss, five sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions on defense.
The Andrean legend also finished high school with a weighted 4.16 GPA and will enroll early at Notre Dame later this month.
Love finished his senior year with 1,292 rushing yards, 370 receiving yards and 27 total touchdowns, which included 212 rushing yards, 106 receiving yards and five touchdowns in the state final.
According to Gatorade, Love has also volunteered with the Ethical Society of Police, which addresses race-based discrimination within the community as well as a volunteer at a local elementary school while also holding a GPA of 4.05.
