Jack Larsen‍ made his way back to Notre Dame again this past weekend and once again, the 2024 Irish tight end commit loved his time.

“It was awesome,” the North Carolina native told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

“It was good to get back up and see all the commits. I was with some other guys there, it was great to talk to them. Great hockey game, it was awesome, a lot of fun.”

Larsen is one of seven current 2024 verbals – along with CJ Carr‍, Aneyas Williams‍, Cam Williams‍, Peter Jones‍, Owen Wafle‍ and Karson Hobbs‍.

All seven were on campus for Saturday’s Junior Day.

“It was a lot of fun,” Larsen said. “I hadn’t met Karson before, first time meeting Peter, I’d met most of the other committed guys before. CJ, Cam, Aneyas, Owen, all of those guys. It was great to see them. It was just a fun day overall.”

One uncommitted prospect Larsen spent time with was 2024 Georgia tight end Walter Matthews.

“We went with Coach Parker in his office, just kind of talking about the tight end position and going through a slideshow about Notre Dame,” said Larsen. “A lot of that stuff, I kind of knew, but I was showing Walter a little bit about it.”

The Irish have continued to pursue tight ends even after Larsen’s summer commitment, making it clear they’re looking to bring in two this class.

“I think that’s the plan, looking for another one right now, which I have no problem with,” Larsen said. “At the end of the day, we’re all going to Notre Dame, going to have to compete for a spot and that’s kind of how football goes.”

“I feel like myself and Walter are very different players too. He’s more of a taller, inline guy who can also run routes and stuff.”

Matthews is 6-7 while Larsen is 6-3.

“So obviously we’re different body builds,” said Larsen.

Larsen also spoke with 2024 Texas linebacker Payton Pierce.

“Me and Peter were talking to him by the weight room,” aid Larsen. “Very cool dude. I’m definitely going to be on him. I just texted him actually asking him how the rest of the visit went. I’m definitely going to stay in touch.

“Everyone is welcoming. We already have a good group of guys already. We’re looking to add on to that, just tell him how good of a place it is.”

Larsen is going to try to get back for the Blue-Gold Game in April.
