Davion Dixon‍ came into the month with several major Power 5 offers.

The 2025 Florida defensive lineman had been offered by Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Penn State, Michigan State, West Virginia and Nebraska among others.

And on Wednesday, he added another huge one when Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington extended an offer on behalf of the Irish.

“It was amazing,” the 6-foot-2, 305-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “That's one of my dream schools growing up as a kid, so I'm glad it came true.

“It's the history and the coaching there is just amazing. Growing up, I used to watch ‘Rudy.’ It used to be one of the best movies for me when I was a kid. We're always talking about Notre Dame.”

The Belen Jesuit Prep standout could make it to South Bend soon.

“I might go up in the Spring and get a connection with the coaches, hang out with them, and just see the school over there,” he said.

He camped at South Bend last summer.

“I was talking to Coach Washington, and a little bit with Coach Freeman, but mainly Coach Washington since I'm d-line, he's the d-line coach,” Dixon explained. “He was just telling me what I need to improve, what he likes about me and all that.

“He's a cool dude. He knows what he is talking about. He's going to tell me what I need to do, where I need to be. The type of coach that's always on you and that's the type of coach that I like.”

Dixon was also impressed with the surroundings.

“The campus is beautiful,” he said. “The best part was Touchdown Jesus. I imagine playing in the stadium and seeing Touchdown Jesus, that's amazing. I love the Grotto too. It's very peaceful and you go pray and everything. Just like my school. I go to a Catholic school, so it can relate to it both ways.”

Dixon has some schools in mind for other visits as well.

“I'm going to visit Nebraska in the summer, University of Florida, probably Penn State and Florida State in the upcoming months,” he said.

He doesn’t have a timeline for a decision, but has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“Mainly, I just want to feel at home, somewhere the coaches are going to care more about grades than on the field, that type of stuff.”
