2024 LB Keyshawn Flowers "Excited" About Notre Dame Offer

Keyshawn Flowers‍ has been busy.

The 2024 Maryland linebacker added several Power 5 offers in the month of February, including one from Notre Dame.

“I was definitely excited,” Flowers says of the offer from the Irish. 

Irish defensive coordinator Al Golden delivered the news early in the morning last Wednesday.

“I had just woke up of course, but it was still a lot of excitement. Notre Dame is a good school. So yeah, I was definitely excited.

“I feel like Notre Dame was one of those teams you grew up watching. So automatically, for me at least, just put on that pedestal of a team that I could at least see myself going to because it's one of those teams that you grew up watching.”

Golden reached out earlier in the month and told Flowers about the facilities and staff in South Bend before offering.

He made positive early impressions.

“He seemed genuine, and he had enthusiasm,” Flowers says of Golden. “It was cool. I like him.”

The next step for Flowers is getting to South Bend for a visit.

“I'm going to try to get a date soon, maybe in the spring,” he says. “Maybe in the summer to get down there.

“I want to learn about the resources they have for me, academically and athletically. The resources and just to build a relationship with the coaches and the staff.

He visited Maryland on March 1st and is set to check out Wake Forest in a couple of weeks. 

He’s also planning to get to Penn State at some point too.

Flowers knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“A school that feels like family is definitely important,” he says. “The school that's going to provide me with the resources to excel academically or athletically. 

“So if I want to have the choice to go to the NFL, they can provide me the resources to do so. Or if I want to just graduate, get a degree and get a good job, then I can do that as well.”

Flowers expects to have a decision in the summer or fall.

“I was thinking about either next season, before the season, or in the middle of the season, but I am not exactly sure. Somewhere around there.”
