Avery Gach‍ visited Notre Dame for the Marshall game last fall and now that he has a scholarship offer from the Irish, the 2025 Michigan offensive lineman tells ISD that he wants to get back.

Gach has already visited Michigan and Michigan State this year and would like to hit some more Big Ten schools and possibly some SEC ones too, but he has to balance his travel schedule with his baseball schedule.

It’s clear getting back to South Bend is a priority for the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder.

He was able to see the facilities during last year’s visit, but wants to actually get a look inside the buildings and spend more time with the coaches in person.

He’s been communicating with new Irish offensive line coach Joe Rudolph and head coach Marcus Freeman. Gach said they’re both young coaches with a great deal of passion. As for Rudolph, Gach is impressed with his resume and his track record of putting players into the pros.

His offer sheet also includes Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Boston College, Pitt, Maryland and Colorado among others.

Both of Gach’s parents attended Michigan State, but that won’t make a big impact on his decision.

What will matter is feeling like he’d be comfortable at the school even if he wasn’t playing football, the coaching staff and the opportunity to compete for playing time as a freshman.

WR PORTER READY TO SEE ND: Quincy Porter‍ has been communicating with Irish receivers coach Chansi Stuckey for weeks and the 2025 New Jersey receiver will get the chance to meet him next month.

Porter, who announced his Irish offer on Friday, will be in South Bend for the first time on April 12th. He’s looking forward to meeting the coaches and seeing the players, including his former quarterback at Bergen Catholic High School, Steve Angeli.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder’s offer sheet also includes schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Kentucky and Oregon among others.

He wants to find a place he can call home that will develop him and give him a chance to go to the NFL.

Academics is extremely important to Porter and his family as well.

ANOTHER LEGACY PROSPECT HITS THE BOARD: On Friday, we posted an update on 2025 wide receiver Jerome Bettis Jr.‍, after he picked up an offer from the Irish.

Another 2025 prospect picked up an offer from his father’s alma mater as well in 2025 Wisconsin tight end James Flanigan.

Flanigan is the son of the former Irish linebacker Jim Flanigan.

He’s been in touch with Irish tight ends coach Gerad Parker consistently enough that he was aware the offer was coming before having it confirmed on St. Patrick’s Day.

The younger Flanigan was baptized at Notre Dame and has played in multiple hockey tournaments there, so he’s familiar with campus. Still, he’s never been for any sort of recruiting visit, but that’s about to change.

Flanigan, who also has an offer from Wisconsin, will be on campus for a visit next week and is looking forward to meeting the coaches and learning even more about the program.

He’s already made other visits to Wisconsin and Minnesota. He’d like to see Penn State as well, but doesn’t have anything else planned as of now.

The 6-foot-6, 222-pounder is looking for a school that will highlight what he does well, namely blocking and catching.

2025 TE ROBERTS FIRED UP ABOUT ND: Nate Roberts‍ has wanted an offer from the Irish from the start…even before the start to be honest.

Before the 2025 Oklahoma tight end had ever landed a scholarship offer, he knew wanted one from the Irish and says they’ve always been a top three school for him.

He’s been in touch with Parker for the past several weeks and says the two have built a strong relationship. Not surprisingly, Notre Dame’s history of producing NFL tight ends has also caught the eye of the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder.

Roberts also has offers from schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU, Georgia, Arkansas, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others.

He says he wants to get to South Bend as soon as possible, but he also needs to fit it in with his baseball schedule.

Roberts is looking for a strong culture and a coaching staff that will be there.
