2025 NJ WR Quincy Porter Recaps Notre Dame Visit
Quincy Porter made his first trip to Notre Dame earlier this week and the big-time 2025 New Jersey receiver enjoyed himself.
“It went good,” the Bergen Catholic star told Irish Sports Daily.
“We got to see the campus and got to watch a spring practice.”
The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder announced an offer from the Irish during last month’s Pot of Gold push.
His offer sheet also includes schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon among many others.
Porter was impressed by what he saw in South Bend.
“The campus was good,” he said. “We didn't get to see inside of the buildings, but from the outside, it looked good.
“Practice was great. I liked all of the drills they were running, and I also liked how the coaches were coaching.”
Notre Dame wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey made positive impressions during practice and conversations.
“We talked mostly about receiver things, stances and releases, just kind of talking about football stuff,” said Porter. “He's cool. You could he is very close to his players because we were able to talk to him.”
Porter said Stuckey reminded him of longtime Bergen Catholic receivers coach Ron Carti.
“I'd say they're real similar,” said Porter. “They both bring the same energy, just good energy.
He got positive vibes from Irish head coach Marcus Freeman and was able to catch up with former Bergen Catholic quarterback Steve Angeli as well.
“I pretty much asked him what he liked about Notre Dame,” Porter explained.
Angeli’s answers were “definitely” positive, according to Porter.
Porter isn’t sure what’s next for him and the Irish, noting he needed to speak with his family about when they would take another visit.
In the short term, he has a couple other trips in mind.
“We haven't planned anything, but most likely Georgia and Ohio State.”
