2024 DE Mylachi Williams Loves Notre Dame Trip
Mylachi Williams made his way to South Bend for Notre Dame’s Blue-Gold Game this weekend and came away impressed with what he saw.
"I got to see campus, the facilities, everything," the 2024 Pennsylvania defensive end said.
"I loved it. It was great."
During his visit, the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder had the opportunity to speak with several Notre Dame coaches, including defensive line coach Al Washington, defensive coordinator Al Golden and head coach Marcus Freeman.
Williams was particularly excited about his conversation with Washington, who spoke highly of the young defensive end's talent and expressed interest in setting up an official visit.
"Basically, I'm a top guy and they want me down there," Williams said of his talk with Washington. "They can't wait to set up an official visit."
The Monsignor Bonner standout was also impressed with the feedback he received from Golden, who praised his work ethic and commitment on the field.
"Basically, the same stuff,” Williams said of Golden’s message. “'We love you, love your film, love how hard you play. You have a special gift and special talent and that talent is running to the ball. Not everybody plays as hard as you play.'
“That means a lot to hear. Not everyone has the same mindset as me. When I'm on the field, I'm at 110% every play.”
Williams, who wrapped up his visit on Sunday, his talk with Freeman.
“It was definitely great to speak to the head guy,” said Williams. “He was just telling me about how great Notre Dame is.
“He’s a great guy. I was impressed. He’s a pretty straight-forward and honest guy.”
Williams currently holds offers from several other schools, including Texas A&M, West Virginia, Pitt, Penn State, Temple, and Rutgers.
The coaches pitched Williams on how Notre Dame is different from other colleges.
"It sets you apart from most schools,” Williams said. “Most schools can't offer what Notre Dame has to offer."
Williams plans to take his time with the recruiting process, but did mention Notre Dame is a top option and that he plans to set up an official visit in the future.
He isn’t yet sure which other schools could receive an official.
