Following a return to South Bend for Notre Dame’s spring game in April, Jerome Bettis Jr.‍ will be back on campus later this month for the Irish’s BBQ on July 30th.

“I’ll be down there,” the 2025 Georgia wide receiver tells Irish Sports Daily.

The son of the Notre Dame legend by the same name is excited about the chance to continue getting to know other recruits, receivers coach Chansi Stuckey, head coach Marcus Freeman and others.

“I really just want to focus more on building the relationships, just getting to see some guys, hang out with more of the recruits and get to know them,” the 6-foot-2, 175-pounder says.

“Obviously, the coaches, get a chance to talk to Coach Stuckey again, so that’ll be good, Coach Freeman hopefully. And then, just have some fun.”

The Woodward Academy star landed his offer from Notre Dame back in March and he hasn’t been shy about saying the Irish have been toward the top of his list ever since.

“I see that as somewhere I could go to school, so, I want to make sure that I know them well, they know me well, and that I’m comfortable there,” he says.

He’s kept in frequent communication with the Irish staff since his last visit.

“A lot of just checking in, making sure I’m good,” Bettis Jr. says. “Obviously, they made sure that they got me to come back there and really just focusing on me and my offseason, how I’m doing, stuff like that.”

Bettis Jr. also has offers from schools like Arkansas, Boston College, UCF, UMass and UConn. He visited Florida State earlier this summer, the only other school he’s been to recently.

“I had a 7-on-7 tournament and a visit,” he says “It went pretty well. The tournament was tough, but the visit went good.”

Notre Dame is the only trip he has locked in for the rest of the summer as well.

“That’s it.”
