He’s made all of his visits.

He’s heard all of the pitches from the coaches.

Most importantly, he’s talked it over with his family and after a week of praying on it.

And now, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa‍ is ready to announce his college decision.

There will be three hats on the table when the 2024 California linebacker picks between Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC on Sunday afternoon at 5 pm (EST)/ 2 pm (PST).

The St. John Bosco star has talked about why each school made it this far.

One of the most encouraging things the elite prospect said about Notre Dame was the fact that he wouldn’t have to “compromise” anything by going there.

“They have a great staff, great people, a great opportunity on and off the field,” he said. “I don't have to compromise the educational part or the football part. I get the best of both worlds.”

The Buckeyes have been recruiting him hard for years. Villamu-Asa values the relationships he has made in Columbus - including with former Notre Dame LB GA James Laurinaitis - as well as what he could accomplish there on the field.

“Ohio State is a really great program,” he said. “I think there too is a lot of opportunity on and off the field with the type of alumni they have and the type of football program they're known for.”

The Trojans’ pitch is simply that he can get everything he’s looking for - and more - without going halfway across the country.

“They have a great business school,” he said. “I don't have to compromise anything there. Staying close to home, being able to play for an historic program in my hometown and be able to play in the Big 10 against the good teams is what they're selling.”

Throughout the process, Villamu-Asa acknowledged being torn and even after taking a couple weeks to get away from the official visits to avoid making an emotional decision, used the last week at a church youth camp in the mountains to pray about it alone.

For months, he felt he could see himself at any of the three schools.

But he can only pick one.

And today he will.
