It didn’t take long for Davion Dixon‍ to decide Notre Dame was the spot for him.

Now, the 2025 Irish defensive tackle commit is being tasked with helping other top prospects come to the same decision.

For the 6-foot-2, 310-pounder, it took about two months. He was offered by Notre Dame in February and committed in April, when he visited South Bend just before the Irish’s spring game.

He’ll be back this coming weekend for the Irish’s Grill & Chill event.

“I think it's going to be good, to be honest,” the Miami prospect says. “I'm going up there to the see the coaches again and building relationships with the ‘24 and ‘25 classes.”

The Belen Jesuit Prep standout has kept in touch with the Notre Dame coaches since his commitment.

“We've been getting close whenever we talk,” he says. “They're making me feel like family to them. That's what I like the most.

“They want me to be a leader in the 2025 class, so I'm going to be a leader for them, help them recruit in the 2025 class and be the number one class in 2025.”

Dixon is still trying to craft the perfect pitch to fellow prospects, but his own reasons for choosing Notre Dame are a good starting point.

“I chose it for the academics and they're a national championship-caliber team,” he says.

And in 2025 Florida defensive lineman Jarquez Carter‍, Dixon will have a natural target to start with.

“That's my boy,” Dixon laughs of Carter. “That's my homeboy. Me and him are basically the same, to be honest. We're dynamic, we're explosive, we're everything a coach needs on the d-line front.

“He is going up there, so I'm going to try to convince him as well. Hopefully, I can make him commit.”
