Yes, CJ Carr‍ is the headliner of Notre Dame’s 2024 recruiting class and yes, the quarterback is set to have some uber-talented pass-catchers to throw to in South Bend.

But you shouldn’t sleep on the running back duo the Irish are set to sign this cycle.

This past weekend, they showed you why.

Missouri’s Aneyas Williams‍ ran for 233 yards and four touchdowns on 40 carries to lead his Hannibal High School squad to a 34-28 win over Buchanan on Friday night.

Meanwhile, down in Texas, Kedren Young‍ was ripping off a performance of his own.

Young finished with 226 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries in Lufkin’s 24-17 win over A&M Consolidated on Friday night.

ANOTHER EASY NIGHT FOR CARR: Sometimes CJ Carr‍ simply makes it look easy and his stat lines do too.

Carr completed 13 of 14 pass attempts for 158 yards and three touchdown passes while rushing three times for 52 yards and another score.

PASS-CATCHERS SHINE: Few Irish commits have delivered as consistently this fall as wide receivers Micah Gilbert‍ and Cam Williams‍ and this past weekend was no different.

Williams grabbed seven passes for 189 yards and touchdowns of 34 yards and 69 yards as Glenbard South dominated Larkin 35-0.

Meanwhile, Gilbert caught 10 passes for 120 yards, but his Charlotte Christian squad fell to Calvary Day 41-10.

TAE SHOWS MORE VERSATILITY: The big question Brauntae Johnson‍ had to ask himself as he went through the recruiting process was whether he saw himself as a wide receiver or a safety. He ultimately decided it would be best for him to go play safety at Notre Dame.

But Johnson, who is also a standout on the basketball court, has expanded his versatility on the high school level to quarterback. This past weekend, Johnson completed 14 of 25 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns while adding another 65 yards and three more scores as a runner.

Johnson’s North Side team defeated Concordia Lutheran 70-39.

KAHOUN=TACKLING MACHINE: Irish linebacker commit Bodie Kahoun‍ has been an absolute menace on the gridiron so far this season and was so again this past weekend.

Kahoun racked up 18 tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble in Patrick Henry’s 49-6 win over Albemarle.
