2019 OH CB Set For ND Return
If it wasn’t Notre Dame, Moses Douglass probably would have been concerned about the 4-8 record in 2016, but the Irish’s struggles last season did nothing to shake the 2019 Ohio cornerback’s interest.
“For some schools maybe, but I feel like Notre Dame is going to bounce back this year, so I wasn’t really worried about this past season,” the Springfield, Ohio native said.
Douglass already has more than a dozen offers from schools like Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, Rutgers, Purdue, Cincinnati, Iowa State and Syracuse among others.
His interest in Notre Dame is certainly legit, especially after a trip to South Bend last summer for Irish Invasion.
“The school,” he said of what has him most interested in Notre Dame. “I like the background of the school and I like the education. I like the campus too. It’s nice. It feels comfortable.”
In fact, Douglass already has plans to return to South Bend next month for Notre Dame’s Sophomore Day on April 2nd.
“I want to talk to my position coach more,” Douglass said of what he’s hoping to accomplish during this trip.
Douglass hasn’t had much contact with the Irish of late, but his father, who is also his head coach, has been in touch with the staff.
The Springfield High School standout plans on making a couple other trips in the coming months as well.
“We should be going to a couple UK spring practices and a couple Ohio State spring practices,” he said.
And he says he’ll hit “for sure” be hitting the summer camp tour again.
He was a known, if a young, commodity on the circuit last summer and this time, he’s ready to show college coaches he can go head-to-head with anybody.
“I just want to show them that I can compete against the top players in the country and in my region.”
