2025 TE Linkon Cure Talks Notre Dame & More

The whirlwind of the fall has slowed down a bit, but things are sure to pick up again soon as Linkon Cure‍ closes in on a final decision.

The 2025 Kansas tight end saw his recruitment explode over the year, gathering several major offers, including one from Notre Dame during a visit to South Bend in October. Prior to that visit, he made trips to Kansas State, Penn State and Nebraska. Afterward, he made stops at Auburn, Oregon and another visit to Kansas State.

“They were a lot of fun despite all the traveling you had to do,” Cure told ISD. “It was honestly a lot of fun for me. I got to experience a lot of new things, got to see a lot of new things. I really, really valued that. That was really special to me.”

Now, Cure will go through the process of trimming a lengthy list of offers down to a more manageable number before hitting the road again.

“I've been kind narrowing it down to a top eight or top 10,” he said. “That'll make things easier. I've just been looking at pros and cons and stuff like that and eliminating some schools.

“I'll go to some junior days and after I make that top list, those coaches will probably start contacting me more and I'll start figuring out some more stuff about their school and stuff like that. I still need to figure out my major. I'll probably narrow it down even more in the next couple of months after that.”

Cure will likely take some official visits and hopes to have a decision before the summer.

“Ideally, I'd like to get it over with a little sooner, but it could go to that,” he said.

The only visit he has locked in at the moment is a trip to Oregon for the Ducks’ Junior Day next month.

He’s maintained some contact with the Irish since his visit.

“Just seeing how my day is, sending me some messages about what the team's doing or how their mindset is this week,” he said.

The Irish coaches made sure to reach out to Cure after the commitment of 2025 Wisconsin tight end James Flanigan to let him know they remained seriously interested.

“That meant a lot to me,” said Cure.

Cure hopes to return to South Bend in the coming months.

“Probably look at the dorms, stuff like that,” he said. “I never really got deep into the football facility. I was just in the indoor and then the stadium, so I'd like to explore it mostly.”

Several major schools stopped by Goodland High School over the past couple weeks.

“It's really special to me. I would've never saw myself in that position, but it also means a lot to people in my school and people in the town, in the community. They don't really get to experience this often, so it's pretty cool for everybody.”
