2025 Notre Dame Safety Target Ethan Long Previews Announcement
Ethan Long is ready.
On Saturday, the 2025 Connecticut safety made it known that he’ll be making his college announcement on Monday.
“I just think solidifying my spot at the right programs is the right move because I'll get even closer with the coaches and the relationships will get even stronger,” the Brunswick School star told Irish Sports Daily.
“I think I've seen everything I wanted to see from the school and I think it's time to get the pressure off.”
Long will choose between Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
“They show me a lot of love,” Long said of his finalists. “It just feels like the right time.
“Of course, I'm going to keep on going with my journey. It feels like I'm ready.”
The Irish have been serious players for Long since they offered him back in May.
“They've done everything right in the recruitment,” the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder said. “They've shown that Notre Dame will set me up for my future, my 4 For 40.
“They are a great football program that is on the rise and they're building something special over there.”
He made multiple trips to South Bend last year, most recently for the Ohio State game in September.
Michigan is another school he’s had his eye on for a while.
“They're a great program as well,” he said. “Having a great friend like (Wolverine wide receiver) Cornelius Johnson on that teams helps a lot. I've learned a lot about Michigan and the way that things are over there. Another great academic school.”
Ohio State has grabbed his attention as well.
“The Buckeyes are one of the top programs in the nation that's shown they will put me first and try to set me up for the future and get the best out of me. Coach (Perry) Eliano and Coach Knowles have been great. It's a blessing to be able to talk to them.”
Long will announce his decision at 5 pm (EST) on Monday.
