2027 Ohio ATH Jamier Brown Talks Notre Dame Offer
It’s still very early in the recruiting process for Jamier Brown, but apparently not too early for Notre Dame.
Last week, the Irish extended an offer to the 2027 Ohio athlete over the phone, a day after visiting Wayne High School.
“They just liked what they saw on my film and the stuff that I'm doing as just a freshman,” he said of the Irish.
“I was kind of surprised and excited to get an offer from Notre Dame. It's a big school. They're big on academics and not just football.”
The Irish offered the 6-foot, 167-pound athlete to play receiver.
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens, both Wayne graduates, made the stop at Wayne last month.
“It was great, especially because they went to Wayne High School and we already had that in common,” Brown said. “It kind of felt like talking to my regular coaches.
Brown also has offers from Penn State, Central Michigan, Ball State and UMass.
He’s planning to stay in touch with Notre Dame and hopes to make it to South Bend at some point.
“Just see the facilities and all of that and maybe a practice,” he said.
Brown has already made stops at Penn State, Marshall and Louisville. In addition to Notre Dame, he’d like to get to Oregon, Georgia and Ohio State among others.
It’s still early to be thinking about making a final decision, but Brown said academics will be the biggest factor in his choice.
