Notre Dame Enters The Race For 2026 Speedster Brandon Arrington
Notre Dame is always looking for speed on the recruiting trail, which is why the Irish entered the race for Brandon Arrington.
The 2026 California athlete is an elite sprinter, who has been clocked at 10.58 in the 100-meter dash and 21.29 in the 200.
On Sunday, the Mount Miguel High School standout was offered by the Irish as part of their Pot of Gold Day push.
“It feels good,” the 6-foot-3, 175-pounder said. “I know that Notre Dame has a lot of history to it.”
And Notre Dame is getting to know Arrington as well.
“I've talked to mostly everybody,” he said of the Irish staff. “I talked to recruiting coordinators, the offensive coordinator, the defensive back coach, mostly everybody, the whole coaching staff.
“They've been telling me good things. They've just been showing love. They've been keeping in contact. They keep checking on me, calling me every weekend, just telling me I can play both ways because I play receiver and DB.”
Arrington likes hearing the idea of playing both ways in college.
“You see Travis Hunter, he's doing it, so why can't I?” he said.
Now that he has the offer, Arrington is looking to continue building relationships with the staff in South Bend.
“Probably some visits and get to know the coaches in person, not just on the phone,” he said of what’s next for him in the Irish.
He thinks he might be able to get out to South Bend this spring.
He’s made one visit recently and has a few others in mind.
“I've been to FSU, but I was planning on going to Alabama, Texas A&M, BYU and Ohio State,” he said. “Those are the schools I was planning on going to this spring also.”
It’ll be important that Notre Dame - and anybody else who is trying to win the race for Arrington - gets him on campus as he said the biggest factors in his recruitment will be the “relationships and bonds” he forms with the coaching staff.
