After a pair of visits to South Bend last year, Noah Grubbs‍ was back at Notre Dame this weekend and the 2026 Florida quarterback and his parents were once again blown away.

“We got there yesterday morning and then we went around the campus,” Grubbs explained. “It started snowing little flakes while we were on the golf cart.”

Then, the Lake Mary High School star had meetings with quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, head coach Marcus Freeman and strength and conditioning coach Loren Landow.

On Saturday, Grubbs made it back to campus early to take in meetings before practice.

“I saw the way that Coach Gino talks and the way that they talk in the QB room and how he teaches them things and stuff like that,” said Grubbs.

Guidugli and Grubbs have established a tremendous bond already.

“I've been in contact with Coach Gino a lot,” he said. “Me and him have a very close relationship and not only talk about football stuff, but outside of football, just personal life. To have a relationship like that with a coach from Notre Dame, it's something special.

“With Coach Denbrock, it was my first time meeting him, so it was a great first impression. We talked some about football; compared my film to what offense I would be in with LSU's offense. It was great to see how my film related to what I would be doing if I made the decision to go to Notre Dame.”

Grubbs was excited to hear that from the offensive coordinator who just helped Jayden Daniels win the Heisman Trophy.

“That just shows the development he has on the quarterback and the knowledge and the experience that he has with the other quarterbacks,” said Grubbs. “He's definitely a person who I think I can learn from and get more experience from and just get the knowledge from him.”

The conversations with Freeman were relaxed.

“We talked about everything,” he said. “We talked about how my visit went, everything that we did before that.”

Later on the visit, Grubbs ran into Sam Hartman, who confirmed that Freeman is exactly who he says he is.

Grubbs will visit Michigan and Ohio State over the next few days, but definitely plans to keep in close contact with the Irish.

“The next step is for them to come down to see me during spring, Coach Gino to come down,” he said. “I'll probably be back up there during summer for the camps.”

There’s no doubt the Irish helped themselves this weekend.

“It definitely opened my eyes more. They're definitely a top school, a top selection for me in my recruiting process. There's nothing negative really about the place. It's a beautiful place, beautiful campus, not only on the athletic side, but academics and life after football, what they have to offer.”
