2025 Notre Dame QB Commit Deuce Knight: 'The bond we have together is great'

2025 Notre Dame quarterback commit Deuce Knight‍ made his third trip to South Bend this offseason as he attended the Blue-Gold Game on Saturday.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder has met just about everyone in the program and that includes his recruiting class, but getting all of his future teammates on campus at the same time is rare.

This weekend, Knight was able to see Notre Dame’s three offensive line commits Matty Augustine‍, Will Black‍ and Owen Strebig‍ together for the first time.

“It was nice getting to hang with those guys,” Knight told ISD. “It’s the first time I’ve been with them all at one time. They are all really good people and players.”

Several other commits and 2024 signees were also on campus and the vibes were high as the 2025 recruiting class has already become close.

“Being around the commits, it’s just like being around people I grew up with,” stated Knight. ”The bond we have together is great.”

2025 running back commit Justin Thurman‍ has been aggressive on the recruiting trail as he and Knight are almost always recruiting. The Florida native might also hold another title in the class as Knight believes Thurman is always good for a laugh.

“The funniest commit to me is Justin Thurman,” said Knight. Just because he’s so serious when he says something funny. It’s just hilarious.”

Knight was on campus last month for multiple days and was able to get a firm grasp of Mike Denbrock’s offense and plans for him as a quarterback. Saturday was the first look at the Irish offensive attack under Denbrock and Knight liked what he saw.

“I like that we throw the ball down the field,” explained Knight. “We got more aggressive in the second half and just how he spreads it out, it shows love to everybody.”

The Notre Dame staff also made sure to carve out plenty of time for Knight during the visit despite the busy weekend of events.

Marcus Freeman, Chad Bowden and the staff once again made their presence and made it clear they aren’t slowing down recruiting the composite four-star prospect.

“Even though I’m committed, they still recruit me hard,” said Knight. “They just like to talk, hang with me and just remind me why I chose Notre Dame.”
