Notre Dame was a school 2019 Edina (Minn.) offensive lineman Quinn Carroll wanted to visit. The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder wrapped up a six school tour with a trip to South Bend on Sunday, and it didn’t disappoint the four-star prospect.

“The visit went great,” Carroll told Irish Sports Daily. My favorite part was sitting down with Coach Hiestand to talk about the program and how he works with his players.”

The Minnesota native got a chance to watch Hiestand with his offensive up close as he watched Notre Dame practice on Sunday morning.

“I liked the way he coaches his players developmentally,” stated Carroll.

Carroll visited Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Virginia Tech before his trip to Notre Dame last week. However, Notre Dame stuck out to the rising sophomore.

“They have a beautiful campus and a tradition like no other place,” explained Carroll. I love the religious aspect of the program, and they aren’t afraid to compete with the best being an independent program.

“I was surprised how intimate the football program is with their faith. I like that.”

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, UCLA, USC, and Wisconsin are just a few of the programs that have offered Carroll to this stage. Carroll didn’t get the offer from Notre Dame on Sunday, but he was far from disappointed.

“They said their process take a little longer because they like to do their research,” stated Carroll. I’m fine with that. I’ll let them take as much time as they need.”

A prospect that somewhat snuck on campus last weekend was 2019 Olentangy Orange (Ohio) defensive end, Zach Harrison. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder was offered by Notre Dame in November this was his second trip to campus.

“It was a good visit,” Harrison told Irish Sports Daily. “The coaches seemed excited to have me up there again.”

The four-star prospect visited for the Virginia Tech game last fall, and he got to take a much deeper look at the Notre Dame campus on this trip.

“We took a tour, watched some presentations, and then took some pictures,” stated Harrison.

The Ohio native has early offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford, and Wisconsin, so the competition will be stiff for the Irish, especially with him being from about 15 minutes from Columbus.

However, Harrison knows the value of the complete package Notre Dame can offer.

“It’s a really good academic school,” said Harrison. “I can go there and get a degree that carries a lot of weight.”
