Notre Dame Football Recruiting

The 2025 ISD Fab 50

One thing that has been clear about Notre Dame’s recruiting strategy under Marcus Freeman is that they focus on locking up commitments early on in the process. On top of that, they’ve stayed away from players who tend to shop around even when they’ve been committed. The recruitments of Dante Moore, Keon Keeley, and Peyton Bowen seemed to have had a pretty big influence with that approach.

With all of that in mind, it’s not surprising that Notre Dame has a handful of top prospects who have committed before the summer. It’s also not surprising that they aren’t in the mix for any recruit who I currently have ranked in my top-30 for 2025.

The majority of the committed players in that group have official visits planned with programs they are not committed to and those commitments won’t feel secure until they sign. Yes, it would be significant if Notre Dame was able to land a top-10 prospect in the class, but having a commitment from one of them might not mean all that much.

I ranked four Notre Dame commitments in the initial ISD Fab 50 for the 2025 recruiting cycle: OT Will Black‍ (33), QB Deuce Knight‍ (35), S Ivan Taylor‍ (44), and ATH Dallas Golden‍ (46). That’s tied with USC for the most commitments, but those four committed to the Trojans have multiple official visits set up with other top tier programs.

I don’t see Notre Dame ending up with more top-50 players than programs like Georgia or Ohio State, but I do believe that the top of the class for the Irish is and will continue to be very strong.

Without further ado…

The 2025 ISD Fab 50

- I know people will ask about where I have other Notre Dame commitments and targets ranked.

LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng‍ (50) is the only target who I have currently ranked in the Fab 50, but in my top-100 I have LB Madden Faraimo‍ (74), CB Mark Zackery IV‍ (85), and WR Talyn Taylor‍ (96).

No other Notre Dame commitments made my top-100 (the next 50 will be listed below in the comments).

- USC might not be able to hold on to those commitments, but if they do, they are going to be more than a handful for Notre Dame to deal with.

DL Justus Terry‍ (7) and edge Isaiah Gibson‍ (14) would be the best duo that the Trojans have brought in on the defensive line in a very long time. QB Julian Lewis‍ (11) is another big time talent at quarterback and LB Matai Tagoa'i‍ (28) is one of my favorite prospects in this entire cycle. He’s the kind of second level game wrecker they’ve been missing.

They are in the mix for a lot more from this list too. The staff changes on defense have paid off in recruiting.

- I think this could end up as the best group at offensive tackle since 2017. I have eight of them in the Fab 50 (a few could kick inside to guard). I have Will Black as the fifth ranked tackle in the class.

- Some prospects I am higher on than others:

I have Edge Kamauryn Morgan‍ at 19. 247Sports is the only major site that has him in their top-100. A basketball player and an outstanding reactive athlete, I think he has as high of a ceiling as anyone as an edge rusher in this class.

Togoa’i’s highest ranking is 70th from other sites, but he’s in my top-30. I love his frame and the lateral twitch and the violence he displays as a tackler is special.

I’m a big fan of S Messiah Delhomme‍ (45). With a name like that, he better be a baller and he lives up to it. He’s a two-way stud with great ball skills and plus instincts as a safety. He’s ranked outside the top-200 with his composite ranking.

I don’t need to explain too much about Dallas Golden‍ that I haven’t already said before.

OL Malachi Goodman‍ (48) is one of those players who will probably end up guard, but I think he is capable of playing tackle in college. He has great feet, is a natural knee bender, and I like his balance in pass protection.

I think he might end up being close to 330 by the time he finishes college and he’s a weapon as a puller. He’s just outside of the top-100 for most of the other sites.
