2025 Notre Dame CB Commit Dallas Golden Feels Even Stronger After Official
Dallas Golden was back in South Bend this weekend for the first time since the elite 2025 Florida cornerback committed to Notre Dame back in April.
“It went really well,” Golden said of his official visit. “Being committed, I get to imagine myself on this campus, me playing football in the stadium, so it's pretty surreal to think about that.”
The Berkeley Prep star also was able to meet with Admissions and learn more about some of the programs that will be at his disposal as a student-athlete in South Bend.
“On how they're going to start getting football players to build relationships after football,” Golden said. “They're going to teach you how to build relationships and how to use your resources to the best of your ability.”
Golden also appreciated the opportunity to play Irish Ball with his fellow commits and just spend time with them overall.
“It was good; just getting to further the bonds, build relationships throughout that short amount of time; just talking to them, doing activities with them, competing,” he said. “Over time, it just builds relationships and builds strength with guys and the strength you build transfers to the field, so it all comes together.”
Golden is excited about Notre Dame’s 2025 recruiting class.
“I think we've got the best class in college football right now,” he said. “We're all dogs, ready to compete for a natty. I really believe this group is going to do something special for Notre Dame. I just think it will be really special. I really think we could take it far.”
And that’s what Golden was telling fellow Floridian, IMG linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, who was also on campus.
“I'm telling him he's just got to commit,” Golden said of Owusu-Boateng, who is also considering USC, Ohio State and Michigan.
“He’s going to come, he's a dog. I really believe Wu is good enough to come in and play. That's what I believe. He's got crazy athletic ability. That's my dog too. He loved it. We walked around the campus. Chad (Bowden) had us going through the Irish Walk. I feel like that just solidified it for him, to be honest.”
Golden was also grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with Bowden, Max Bullough, Al Golden, Marcus Freeman and the rest of the Irish coaching staff.
“It was a blessing to get to talk with people of that caliber,” he said. “We have built relationships over time. I don't want to say it's like talking to a friend, but talking to a person you've known your whole life. There's no awkwardness, conversations come along really easy.”
Golden’s commitment has been solid for over a month, but after this weekend, it’s even more solid.
“No doubt. It definitely made it a lot more firm. Just getting to be there now that I'm committed, it puts into realization how blessed I am and the great decision I made. That was really important to me.”
