Film Don't Lie | Thomas Davis Jr.
Notre Dame has already gained momentum in recruiting after the Florida State game by flipping 2025 RB Nolan James. They’ve kept it rolling by adding blue-chip LB Thomas Davis Jr. in the 2026 class.
The son of former Georgia All-American and Carolina Panthers All-Pro LB Thomas Davis Sr., the younger Davis is just the latest elite linebacker prospect to commit to Notre Dame. He’s a versatile athlete with an impressive skill set.
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 205
Projected Position: Linebacker
ISD Grade: 92 (4-star)
National Average Grade: 91.9 (4-star)
What he does best:
He has the fluidity to play in space and his instincts to make tackles on the perimeter are great.
Davis has shown the ability to make plays aligned in different spots. He can line up on the ball to rush the passer and defeat tight ends in the run game as well like he does here.
He knows how to find the football in coverage and is an all-around playmaker.
One of the things that stands out about Notre Dame at the linebacker position is the violence they play with. Davis should fit right in with everyone else in the room.
What he needs to improve:
He’s another former safety and mostly plays in space. He plays a lot faster on the perimeter than he does inside and needs to get better with his recognition versus the run game.
Davis doesn’t use his length well right now when it comes to defeating blocks. That’s an area of his game that needs to grow.
What’s his ceiling?
Davis is long, athletic, and can be a violent hitter. In other words, he fits the mold of a Notre Dame linebacker. The coaching staff has had success with the sons of former NFL players and they’ve added another exciting prospect in Davis.
He has scheme versatility and has the tools to develop into a three-down linebacker and high-level starter for the Irish.
