2018 Taylor County (Ga.) running back Lyn-J Dixon holds double-digit offers and Notre Dame is coming hard after the three-star prospect. Running backs coach Autry Denson leads the recruitment, and the two have developed a solid relationship after the Irish offered on March 19th.
“It’s going well,” Dixon said of his relationship with Denson. “We have a good relationship, and the communication is good. Everything is going great.
“He’s cool and sends me motivational quotes every morning.”
The 5-foot-10, 183-pounder not only relates to Denson, but he already knows he could see himself playing for the former Notre Dame running back.
“If I played under him, everything would go smoothly,” stated Dixon. “I feel comfortable about playing under him too.”
The Georgia native has visited the local schools, but he is planning a massive road trip to see numerous schools. The likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, and Texas have offered Dixon, and he wants to repay the favor.
“I will probably make it to Notre Dame this summer,” explained Dixon. “I am trying to get up there. I am trying to get to Texas, Louisville, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, and LSU.
“I am going to be busy. I am trying to visit all the schools that have shown me a lot of interest. I’m trying my best to show them my time and interest in them too.”
On his visits, Dixon is looking for comfort from the coaching staff to the campus life. Comfort is a large part of his decision, and he will be paying close attention how he feels on his visits.
“I am looking for a family atmosphere,” stated Dixon. “I want a coach that is there for the kids and one that prepares his players for life outside of football. I am looking at things like if I ever got hurt, I want to find a school I could stay the rest of my time there and get my degree.”
In three years of varsity football, Dixon has reached the 1,000-yard mark each year, including 1,914 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2016.
Dixon believes his complete game is what has led to his big numbers.
“I can play in any offense,” said Dixon. “I have good vision, and I can make good cuts. I can catch, and I run with power. My size, I weight like 183, but it’s going to be tough to take me down.”
