2025 WR Commit Scrap Richardson Recaps Notre Dame Return
Earlier this month, Antavious Richardson returned to Notre Dame for the first time since the 2025 Georgia receiver announced his commitment to the Irish.
“It was great visiting the family, visiting my teammates, the future atmosphere,” the Greenville High School standout said. “It was great.”
The thing that stood out to Richardson when he first visited South Bend back in September was the same thing that stood out this time.
“It was just, once again, the people,” he said. “It was a nice time; The Walk, being in the night environment. It was just a great time all around in general being there.”
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder appreciated the chance to get back on campus knowing that is where he’ll be spending the next few years of his life.
“To be honest, knowing that I'm going there, the interactions are really different,” he said. “It feels like home to me.”
The opportunity to get to know more of his future teammates was important.
“It was great,” Richardson said. “Being a future Notre Dame player, it was great meeting them. We had good conversations, basically team bonding already as we got throughout the day. The more and more we talk, the more and more we start talking about football, being a future Notre Dame Irish player. All around, it was a good experience between all the commits.
“In my opinion, the more you bond now, that's better the team chemistry will get. You're already meeting people who you are going to be with within that class. Some people probably don't meet until you get there to the school. Us meeting now and all the commits getting together and talking, that's a good thing because we'll have early bonding, early team chemistry and brotherhood.”
Richardson sees himself contributing the same way the coaching staff does.
“I feel like I fit mainly in the offense because of the speed really,” he said. “For the most part, I think that's what they're looking for me to bring to the table is speed.”
Richardson’s high school career is over, so he’s already turned his attention to college.
“I'm an early enrollee, so I start school there January 10th,” he said.
“It feels great to me. I want to get a better chance to study and learn the plays early and be in the weight room for sure. So I feel like it's good.”
