Film Don't Lie | Sullivan Garvin

In typical Notre Dame fashion, they want to keep the momentum going after signing day. What better way to do that than adding a commitment in the next class.

The Irish just earned one from 2026 O-line prospect Sullivan Garvin‍. He camped at Notre Dame in the summer and impressed Joe Rudolph in the process. Adding him is a solid start to the 2026 O-line class.

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 295

Projected Position: Guard

ISD Grade: 89 (3-star)

National Average Grade: 88.3 (3-star)

What he does best:

He’s a really good athlete for a big man. He’s an agile mover who can be utilized as a puller and in the screen game.

It was obvious with him at Irish Invasion that he has really good feet and balance in pass protection. The base is there for him to develop into being great in this area.

Garvin is strong. He can get movement at the point of attack and loves to put people on the ground.

That’s probably the number one thing about him. He’s a mean dude on the field and you love to see that from any guard.

What he needs to improve:

He’s so much bigger and stronger than most of the guys he’s playing against that he can get away with just being a bully rather than playing with good technique. He needs to do a better job of locking up with defenders at the second level and sustaining more consistently.

He has a lot of plays where he throws tiny guys out of the club, but he won’t be able to get away with that kind of thing against better competition.

What’s his ceiling?

It’s always harder to evaluate someone’s film when they are going against competition that doesn’t come close to matching their abilities. He’s such a monster compared to the small school competition he faces.

It always comes back to the traits, though. He’s a massive human who is going to easily carry 300+ pounds and is a plus athlete for an interior lineman. Watching him reminds me a lot of former Washington OT Roger Rosengarten when he was a recruit because he was also a beast who had some bad habits because he was so physically dominant against his competition. The traits were there for him to develop into a really good player, though, and that’s exactly what happened.

Garvin’s light feet and nasty demeanor remind me of current Notre Dame center Ashton Craig. He’s another player who came to camp and earned an offer from the coaching staff and that ended up being a very good evaluation. That was before Rudolph was on staff, but Rudolph has a well earned reputation of being an excellent evaluator when he gets to work with prospects at camp. Anthonie Knapp is a great example of that.

I like Garvin’s potential a lot. He has the tools to develop into a starter for the Irish.
