2026 OL Grayson McKeogh Talks "Awesome" Notre Dame Visit
Just a couple weeks after landing an offer from Notre Dame, Grayson McKeogh found himself in South Bend this week for an unofficial visit.
“I can't even say much more than it was awesome,” the 2026 Pennsylvania offensive lineman said of his trip from Wednesday evening to Friday morning.
“They really took it upon themselves and made it a really special and personal visit. I got to meet all the coaches and just talk ball and then at the same time, talk a lot about getting to know each other. I got to go out to dinner and see the entire facilities. I really got the whole thing, which is really cool.”
The La Salle College High School standout believe he got a good feel for the people at Notre Dame.
“I really think I've gotten to know a lot of them really good,” he said. “There are a couple more coaches that I can talk to a little more, but in terms of the o-line room and Coach (Marcus) Freeman, I've gotten to know them pretty well.”
Freeman and offensive line coach Joe Rudolph certainly made impressions this week.
“Both of them are really personable guys,” said McKeogh. “They share a lot of tendencies, especially Coach Freeman. He's able to bring in personal events into his talks with the team and is able to help the team connect on a more personal level. You can just clearly tell the respect between the coaches and the players, especially the o-linemen and Coach Rudolph, so it's sweet.”
McKeogh’s offer sheet also includes schools like Penn State, Duke, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Ole Miss and Wisconsin among others.
Rudolph, Freeman and offensive line assistant Rob Delaney definitely made the 6-foot-8, 285-pounder feel wanted.
“The entire trip was personal,” McKeogh said. “I was always doing things with Coach Rudolph and Coach Delaney. We got to spend time at dinner with my family and their families. It was just things that I hadn't done other places that really show their interest in me.”
McKeogh already has official visits locked in to Penn State and Duke in June. After this visit, there’s a good chance he’ll be back at Notre Dame for an official.
“I've got to sit down with my parents to see if I can find that date in June, but as of now, it looks like I will be,” he said.
McKeogh is hoping to find out even more about Notre Dame if he returns.
“Just what the players do around campus besides football. Obviously football takes up a lot of your time, but there is going to be a lot of your time, especially at a school that's as prestigious as Notre Dame when you're studying, hanging with friends, just see what they enjoy doing and that bond they've been able to build together.”
