Teddy Jarrard‍ always seemed to have a clear vision of what he was looking for in a college program.

The 2027 Georgia quarterback never seemed to be in a rush, yet, he always seemed to be moving at a quick pace toward the end.

The end arrived on Thursday when Jarrard publicly announced his commitment to Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame.

“I think Notre Dame has a lot to offer and I think the quarterback position development-wise, it's key and it's an important thing for me,” the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder told Irish Sports Daily prior to going public with his decision.

“I think Coach Freeman's building something great up there.”

Jarrard chose the Irish over his other finalists; Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State along with a host of other offers.

Notre Dame quarterback coach Gino Guidugli was extremely diligent throughout the process. He didn’t offer any 2027 quarterbacks until last month and even then, he offered just two. Patience proved virtuous as Guidugli nabbed one of the very best signal-callers in the entire country.

“What Coach Gino's done with the quarterbacks and what Notre Dame is as a program and culture-wise,” Jarrard said of what further convinced him South Bend was the spot for him.

“I think it's important for me to go into a good culture and I think Notre Dame is a great culture for quarterbacks and all players in general.”

The academic opportunities in South Bend were also crucial for the North Cobb High School quarterback.

“Definitely,” he said. “It's huge. Notre Dame has huge academics and that's a big part of my recruitment. I think that's always a bump.”

Jarrard gives the Irish three commits in the Class of 2027, joining linebacker Ellis McGaskin and long-snapper Sean Kraft, and a face of the class as the quarterback.

He didn’t need to make a decision so soon, but conversations with his inner-circle led to him pulling the trigger before his upcoming junior season.

“Just me talking with my family and my agent, I think it's the best situation and why wait when I have a good opportunity at a school?” he said.

He now plans on going from recruit to recruiter as he’ll try to help bring even more top targets to Notre Dame.

“Absolutely. That's always the goal.”
