Khalil Terry‍ had planned to be at Notre Dame for last month’s game against USC.

That didn’t work out, but the 2027 California safety has a new date.

“We had to reschedule for the Navy game,” Terry told Irish Sports Daily.

The Tustin High School standout was in South Bend for the Irish’s spring game back in April and is looking forward to getting back this weekend.

The 6-foot, 185-pounder is a big fan of the Irish’s defensive coaching staff.

“I really like Mike Mickens and I really like Coach (Chris) Ash as well,” said Terry. “I just like what they're doing with that defense too.”

Terry is excited to see what Mickens and Ash ask of their safeties in person during Saturday’s game against the Midshipmen.

“I'll probably try to see what coverages they run and how they use their safeties when I go out there, see if I could fit in,” he said.

Terry was still committed to Michigan State the last time he visited South Bend, but he’s since backed off that commitment and his recruitment is now open.

His offer list includes dozens of schools including Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ohio State, North Carolina, LSU, Georgia and Alabama among many others.

He’s already made trips to Arizona State, Oklahoma and North Carolina and has some other visits in mind for the rest of the process.

“I'll probably go try to see Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, and then I'm not too sure. But those are the ones I for sure want to go see.”
