Juju Harmon made his way up to South Bend for the Irish’s home finale against Syracuse a couple weeks back and the 2027 defensive back/athlete from Kentucky was impressed.
“I got to see their tradition and how they play,” Harmon told Irish Sports Daily. “And their defense. Their defense is very good.”
The Scott County star was also impressed with the traditions at Notre Dame.
“It's one of a kind,” he said. “I like it.”
While on campus, Harmon was able to introduce himself to staff members and make connections.
“They said they’re going to try to give me back there in either January or April,” he said.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder already has a half-dozen scholarship offers from Kentucky, Miami-Ohio, Ohio, Toledo, Kent State and Kentucky.
This was his first trip to South Bend, although he’s had his eyes on Notre Dame for a while now.
“I love their defense,” he explained. “One of my favorite players went there, Kyle Hamilton.
“I just liked how they play their players there. They let them improvise and play different positions on the defense.”
Harmon was impressed with the Irish’s 70-7 win over Syracuse, but said he will “for sure” return to South Bend for another visit and maybe to see a closer contest.
“Talk to more coaches and see them play at least a better team than they played, see how they match up against them,” he said
Harmon had made several visits prior to the trip to Notre Dame.
“I've been to Kentucky, Louisville, Toledo, Ohio, Alabama, Miami-Ohio and Akron,” he said.
It’s early, but Harmon knows the key factors to his ultimate decision.
“Scheme, system and if I'm going to play.”
