What a difference a week makes.

A week ago in this space, we noted how Notre Dame fans were running out of patience, and understandably so. 

Big transfer portal names were coming off the board, other programs were loading up, and several players the Irish had been actively targeting were headed elsewhere without even taking the time to board a plane to South Bend. 

At that point, the Irish did not have a single portal commitment and the margin of error was extremely slim.
