Notre Dame continued its evaluation of Lukas Prock‍ last week.

Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli stopped by the Hun School on Thursday, maintaining early contact with the 2028 New Jersey quarterback as Notre Dame continues shaping its board at the position.

The visit reinforced Notre Dame’s deliberate approach and clarified where Prock currently stands in that process.

“He was just talking about how they take their process pretty slow and they’re going to wait until the spring to start offering any 2028s,” Prock told Irish Sports Daily. “But he feels like I’m at the top of the list as a priority, so that made me feel really good.”

Despite holding several early Power Four offers from schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Boston College, Notre Dame’s timeline does not change Prock’s perspective on the Irish.

“It doesn’t really affect me,” Prock said. “That’s just the way they do it. And knowing that when or if I get that offer, it’ll mean a lot because they don’t really offer a lot of quarterbacks each class.”

Guidugli also laid out what the next phase of evaluation would look like, including more detailed football work in the coming months.

“He said he’s going to come back out in the spring and we’re going to go on the whiteboard and really talk football and get more in depth about how Notre Dame runs its offense,” Prock said. “He wants to put me through whiteboard stuff with down and distances and what I can do in those situations and really break down a play as deep as I can.”

Prock was in South Bend for last summer’s Irish Invasion and again for last fall’s home game against USC. A return visit is already on Prock’s radar as the relationship continues to build.

“I’ll try to get up there in the spring, and if I can’t then definitely in the summer,” Prock said. “Coach Gino is coming back out in the spring, so I think I owe him a visit.”

Prock came away impressed by Guidugli’s approach and his passion for developing the signal-callers.

“I like him,” Prock said. “I think he’s really passionate about the quarterback position and I think he knows a lot, so I feel like I’d be able to learn a lot from him.”

Notre Dame’s broader appeal remains consistent and continues to keep the program in the race at this early stage.

“The overall development, the way Notre Dame has shown they can win and send guys to the NFL, plus the academics. I was out there in the summer and I really liked the campus. That all stands out a lot.”
