Notre Dame has been as good as anyone in the country at the safety position in recent years and that’s not stopping any time soon.

The Irish safeties combined for 12 interceptions last season. That was more than 84 teams had from their entire defense. Four safeties who had 11 of those interceptions are back in 2026. They are the backbone of Notre Dame’s defense.
